Scary stuff. This footage captures the crash of a mountain rescue helicopter on Großglockner (12,461′), the tallest peak in Austria. The vehicle stopped just shy of a 300-meter drop. Miraculously, no one was injured. Vittorio Messini, a mountain Guide and member of the Austrian Mountain Rescue Squad, told Planet Mountain that it’s unclear if the accident was caused by wind gusts or pilot error. The injured party was transported to a safer landing location, where a second helicopter arrived 30-minutes later.
